Tora, i got you beat. Our high school computer lab used Tandy Radio Shack computers. My first pc, which was second hand from my dad’s office was a 286 with a CGA video card. That’s right, ALL my reports were written using Wordstar and Lotus 123 while most people were already using Windows 3.11.
The first time we had computer as a subject was in Grade 6 and we used an ancient language called LOGO.
I got my first desktop in 1996. It was a 486 running on DOS and Win 3.0.
Nowadays, such tech is something worthy of an episode of Ancient Aliens.
As for Vernon, someone MUST put that brat in line. Is he above 18?
Pfft! I’d like to see Vernon try to research the tried and tested way: by visiting the library and the historical sites! Hmph!
yeah, my first computer was a 8 bit BASIC OS commodore 64, try running windows XP on that, i may bow to you.

Try a typewriter. Had that in grade school as part of the curriculum.
It does come in handy for the occasional period play, but not in my neck of the woods.
