this might be a big investment for Jimmy and Fe since there’s a financial crisis… I can foresee panic buying for memorial lots and columbarium in the near future since most of our lands are converted to subdivisions and condos…
This whole arc is social commentary on how hard it is to get decent low-cost housing – you would have to be dead and reduced to carbonized bone fragments to be able to move in.
I remember reading history books on how cheap it was (2 digits) to get a bahay kubo within Manila back during the American Colonial period
I’m not quite sure if anyone has observed this, if you’re rich, you can buy as many houses and condo’s you want. If you’re poor, you either get housing from the government or you have to be paid by the landowner to move away from their land, but if you are a middle class individual, it is very difficult to buy a house or condo because they’re very expensive. And who say’s rent to own is the same as renting? you have to put a downpayment of at least P200,000 even for a studio unit!!!
And have you noticed how many high rise condos are sprouting in the metro right now? Their definition of affordable is around P10,000 a month, not counting utilities!!!
