To be fair, a cowboy doll, a slinkee dog, a potato head, and a plastic dinosaur probably doesn’t deserve to be on the same shelf as a Gundam collection. But who are we to judge?
But if said toys fetch really high prices on eBay, an auction house or in the Toy Shop of some guy who bought them in bulk from Toy Kingdom or Toys R Us, I think I know why it deserves that shelf space
eh, to each his own treasure, I guess. I didn’t keep any of my old Barbie dolls, but I still keep all of my old story books. The crown of my collection is a nursery rhyme book my mom bought when she was pregnant with me. my 28-year old brother’s Lego collection is assembled and displayed in a glass-fronted cabinet.
not double posting intentionally, sorry, Chomps. Parson mentioned Beerkada action figures. I’d love to have a set. Any chance you’re planning on those, L? I’m still waiting for a Beerkada totebag to be available, by the way. I’m too old (and fat) to look good in a Beerkada shirt, so I’d like to have a Beerkada bag.
…This strip reminds me my old room needs some major spring cleaning. Poor toys are just gathering dust on shelves behind glass cases.
I believe every toy should have what the velveteen rabbit had.
you don’t really have to give away your toys.. Just ask those geeks who have a collection of Tamiya, Gundams, and anime Figurines.. *looks at the school girl figurines*
PC Agree with you about the Gundam comment. And yeah, buying cool toys at 30 is a good reason to have a son, provided said toys aren’t wrecked by said son while playing with them. A fact a friend of mine can attest to, poor Ironman was left headless after a very strenuous playtime
Pcow: you need a reason? I’m 35, and whenever some of my greedier relatives try to get their hands on my book collection saying I’ve already read them or that they’re better suited for their (younger) kids, I tell them to spend their own money. Nobody gets their hands on my mostly first edition set of HP and my extensive Star Wars novel collection. My Archie comic book collection is safely hidden from view since those #@!$ always try to look for it and swipe some. I usually lock my doors whenever they try to visit.
A lawyer friend of mine who collects action figures.
I also collect Tomica miniatures and I’m a licensed teacher.
Who the hell said we should get rid of our toy collections once we reach adulthood?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! FTW!!!

Buying cool toys at 30: Another great reason to have a son.

Wow–this is a popular strip.

yup, who needs an excuse to buy a toy nowadays? even the mcdonald’s crew don’t give a hoot if people like me start buying happy meals for the toys.
wheee… I’m going to buy an AK47 Airgun… yeah for my baby girl…
But the “toys” of those two aren’t exactly for children…???
are they watching toy story 3 illegally? penge ng link ng torrent… hehe
I realized that I need to sell my geek stuff in order to have cash for my son.
Great strip Mr. L!
