Note: Young men across Southeast Asia are terrified of sleeping death, a condition when he suddenly dies in his sleep. In the Philippines, its called bangungot. You may recall a famous actor by the name of Rico Yan who died of it years back.
In Philippine folklore, the bangungot is a supernatural obese woman who sits on her victim. The victim is then unable to move and breathe and eventually suffocates.
In Bryan’s case, however, having a woman sit on him is just another conquest on his part.
Welcome to Beerkada Halloween 2008.
Is that Bryan under Natre of Shutter fame?
eww…
tsk tsk it is still in favor for bryan? wehehe better luck next time for the bangungot 😀 wehehe
@ infiniti: thats one big natre if ever she is one…:D
reminds me of a monty python song titled ‘Sit On My Face’. there’s a youtube video of the troupe singing it.
the woman initially reminded me of the boogeyman in The Nightmare Before Christmas
that’s soooo wrong on soooo many levels! :p
Really. Bryan will hit anyone or anything. Just look at the last comic pane, he’s thumbs upping! 😀
waw! that was informative.. 🙂
hehe… it’s like Aling McBeal sitting on Bryan’s head.. hehe (haha! Bryan’s dreaming of Aling Mcbeal, Bryan’s dream-girl!!! hehe :D)
sadako had her turn…
hehe.. akala ko yung title ng strip when translated is “lamay”
For a moment, I thought it was Aling McBeal.
Wow. Bangungot looks like something that came out of a Shel Silverstein book.
If I wake up to that, I’d rather die in my sleep
Oh my lord…YAK! Bryan is more horrifying than the demon! :p
Bangungot looks like those old Anitos you see in old Filipino folklore.
ooohhh… never knew that.
very trivial…
buti na lang may explanation kung hindi i won’t be able to understand the strip at all.
