The original parodies the investigative TV show IMBESTIGADOR. I watched one episode where they exposed a streetside vinegar distributor who makes his product out of industrial-grade acid. Right along a back alley. In gasoline canisters.
It’s not the first time someone came up with a cooking spoof of Master Chief. It is, however, that someone came up with his signature dish. Trivia: Halo-Halo is a Filipino iced dessert meaning ‘All mixed up’.

This is a parody of the ABS-CBN teleserye Ysabella. Ysnabera is derived from ‘isnabera’, which is a Tagalog for ‘Snubber’. I love these commentaries. It makes me feel like those explainer notes from anime, such as Yakitate! Japan.
Looking back, this strip has a whole new meaning. Before, it was just a promise of what Glen’s lies ahead in Glen’s future. Now, it sums up the whole college experience.
Back in my engineering college days, the hallways were filled with signs that say ‘Engineers serve the country’. Liberal Arts majors serve the country, too. With a side order of fries. 😀 Kidding.
