I spent last Sunday in Cosplay Mania 09 with hundreds of leather-clad and pleated teens. Not only is the event successful, it seems to be driving a market in anime fashion and merchandise.
It’s also a personal plus for me, as I got in touch with not one but two friends who inspired Beerkada, as well as college friends like Zanne and Malvs, some Via Astris colleagues and a few Beerkadets.
The coolest cosplayers I saw were emulating Season 3 Avatar, complete with disguised Katara and Toph.
It seems Glen will start to wear his hair long ala 90s Rick Astley in the next few months. Thanks to Robert Wong and Filcosplay for having me over and providing a free booth.
Now on to Komikon on October 18!
I was looking for your booth, but I wasn’t able to find it. The place’s so jam-packed. All in all, the event was a blast and total success.

If you meant the character on the left in the second pic, I think that’s supposed to be Mai, not Toph.
