Getting the financing and the papers signed is the easy part. Getting the current occupants evicted is what makes things even costlier.
You would have to pay legal fees or even bribe the occupants into walking out peacefully for the cost of a townhouse, a low-cost housing unit or the downpayment of the lawyer’s luxury condo in the Fort.
It would be more complicated if Left-leaning advocacy groups, NGOs intervene and turn the whole thing into a drama or a media circus.
Worse if the squatter is heavily armed or is affiliated with a group that’s heavily-armed and has its own muscle. For that you may need to invest in guns and hired muscle and guns, especially long-arms like rifles are expensive.
The worst would have to be if the squatters are ardent supporters of the mayor of municipality/city where your newly-purchased housing unit is located. You cannot count most above since Mr/Madame Mayor would do anything in his/her power to make support those vote buffers. Then you will have to pay him a biggie bribe.
