Bryan didn’t mean what he said. H-He’s just acting like a tough guy…*sob*
Can anyone give the correct answer to Bryan’s question?
Note: “making your bones” is a mobster term for making your first kill, a form of initiation within the mob.

I like the version posted on the Philippine STAR
where the guy in the 2nd panel says:
Wait! Wait! You can’t hurt me, I’m not a Red Shirt, I’m a Gold Shirt….
this refers to Star trek characters who are introduced that are wearing Red Shirts die shortly after…
This can be seen also in the Star Trek movie, where a Red Shirt dies in the space jump scene.
Red shirts in Startrek are always seen as cannonfodder – the kind to easily kill off
BSG Executive producer Ronald D Moore wrote for TNG, DS9, Voyager and helped produce the latter 2 Star Trek franchises.
BSG fanatics will get their just deserts when they start airing BSG Caprica
“make your bones” on Dr. McCoy? *groan* please tell me the pun wasn’t intended.
yeah, i like the one published in philstar better.
With the newspaper version, I could have made a comment about how he should have worn blue since Blue Shirts tend to die 2% of the time as opposed to Red Shirts’ 78% and Yellow Shirts’ 12% mortality rate. For this one: He didn’t give a frak about your shirt either.
The magic of webcomics allows for two versions of the strip, which pleases two groups of readers: me, and everyone else.
I, too, believe that every shirt turns red after a violent death, thus making a red shirt a self-fulfilling prophecy.
A Centaurian Slug wraps its around a victim’s brain stem, releasing a toxin that works like a truth serum.A Ceti eel on the other hand enters through a victim’s ear canal and infects the cerebral cortex, making the victim susceptible to outside suggestion.
That answered,do I get a Cupie Doll???
“Bones” was also the nickname for Dr. McCoy in TOS.
