I hope this strip marks the return of Trek and The Ciy.
Ever since Star Trek went off the air, a lot of the stuff it did inspire (Bluetooth earpieces, cellphons, plasma screens, tasers) have been proliferating around the world. And yet, a lot of people have been abusing these technologies, abuses minimally discussed in Star Trek (apart from that Lt. Barclay episode where he gets addicted to the Holodeck).
And this promises a lot of material for TITC.
You’re a geek, aren’t you Lyndon?

“dont stun me, bro!!” lol..
Mary, it’s quite contrary, he did get a lot of info from the net.
Granted, though he is the self proclaimed godfather of the fan group star wars philippines…
Mary: I collected Star Wars novels throughout the 90’s, I have at least 63 SW novels. Star Wars is more like Galactic Fantasy rather than Science Fiction. You know what made me finally stop? The Phantom Menace. Ugh. Episode 1 was the worst thing ever to have happened to the SW franchise.
The term is ‘space opera’
L: the term is open to debate 🙂 SW novel collectors classify the SW books as being of the Galactic Fantasy genre.
I think if you compare the phantom menace to the original novel, it isn’t that great, but movie-wise it is a pretty good movie. Movie adaptations usually can’ help being disloyal to the original work so you can’t blame it’s inconsistency. I haven’t read any of the SW novels and I found the first two movies enjoyable (guilty as charged). ‘Cept the third, now that was crap even for a movie. 🙂
Mary: The whole Ep 1-3 trilogy was a sellout, it looked like they planned and filmed the special effects scenes, then forced the script to conform and link those scenes. The only movie I found enjoyable among the 3 was Episode 2. Yoda rocked! Anyway, if you’re interested in reading the Star Wars novels, I recommend the ones by Timothy Zahn and Aaron Allston. Zahn’s books are what started the SW novel boom of the 90’s, and Allston’s books are like the SW version of Grey’s Anatomy Season 1, fast-paced, tight, and funny, with only a little romance thrown in.
I still prefer the old starwars movies… EWOKS ROCK!!!
Looks like Star Trek would be laying low until the Movie would premiere next year. I hope you keep the falme up despite the supposed inactivity of the franchise
that’s right, Imma bring along my captain’s log. No, his name isn’t jimmy
