Blog: December 28th, 2007That is right!
The Beerkada Comics Website is under renovation. Please bear with us while we try to get a hold of the in-s and out-s of the ComicPress Theme. Hopefully, the site will be fully up and running by January 1.. or 31..
In the mean time, you can still view the previous site at [...]
Blog: January 1st, 2008Last September, a local daily broadsheet removed 7 comic strips to make way for Carlo J. Caparas’s diyaryoserye. Among these were Elizabeth Chionglo’s Love Knots, Steven Pabalinas’ Divine Comedy, and Jomike Tejido’s Mikrokosmos.
Eventually, Love Knots returned, and some of the other comic strips returned as well.
The foreign comic strips.
What gets me is that the local [...]
Blog: January 2nd, 2008Why am I posting all the Beerkada strips online?
First of all, the current trend in the Internet is free content. Online magazines and shifting away from the paid subscription model and going for ad revenues. Google AdSense and similar systems are making this possible.
That means I’d rather have a lot of you visit this site [...]

Blog: January 14th, 2008I got to talk to Ryan, who did outstanding work in most of the Beerkada book covers, and he offered to do the cover for the upcoming Beerkada collection. This is in spite of his current workload and newborn kid.
Yehey!
Blog: January 16th, 2008I went back to my dad’s hometown in Quezon province to attend my deceased grandfather’s birth centennial.
I took the airconditioned provincial bus, a Raymond. I made the mistake of taking a non-airconditioned bus before. Tight seating. Bad backrest. Informal atmosphere. Packages everywhere.
For a 6-hour trip, you pay extra to avoid that kind of hell.

There’s all this hype surrounding the IPhone. I’ve never gotten an Apple product, and I’m not planning to start with the IPhone. I got a Nokia E61, and I love the QWERTY keyboard. The IPhone has this touch keyboard, and I’ve had enough of that with my previous PDA, a Palm. You can’t type paragraphs [...]
Blog: January 18th, 2008I sense when I have a good Beerkada storyline if I get ideas for two or three great moments.
I know when I have a great storyline if I know a terrific ending. Such an ending would not only provide closure, but in some way, would be the logical end of the entire premise of the [...]
