I passed by Boni Avenue recently, and spotted a neighborhood Video City store.
They still have those?
BTW, the first time the Beerkada entered the store was back in 1998. 11 years. Wow.
I think they still have The Loin King.

ahhhh the loin king and rear and pleasant danger… memories of beerlenium
guess chomps never heard of vcds before much less laser disks
We still got VCD’s at home :D, and I think Virra Mall still sells some laser discs.
Unfortunately, VCDs killed the Video Stores.
Particularly those sold in Quiapo for the cost of your rental fee.
i wonder how othet video city stores are still able to survive…
all the video city stores I know already closed down…
and do they have HD or BlueRay discs?
you think VCDs are difficult? once I found it difficult to explain to my 7-year-old daughter what a cassette tape is, and why it’s called tapes.
lalo na ang betamax and VHS. nyahahaha.
there’s still a VideoCity in Road 20, they sell and rent out both vcd and dvd. As for Betamax and VHS I still have some in my collection seeing as I’ve yet to convert Captain Harlock, Inaba the dreamer and the original Appleseed Anime from their original VHS formats (Orig kasi pinadala from the states darn it)
as for laser disks, a japanese specialty ukay-ukay sells LDs at a cheap price considering wala nang LD players still in working order lol
Chompy speaks like she’s from a totally different generation.
Isn’t she almost the same age as the rest of the beerkada?
yeah sobra naman na hinde alam ni chompy yan. 😛 sana yung nephew na lang ni boopey. pero younger siya kaysa sa ibang beerkada sa alam ko.
Oh, I remember those days. Switching CDs seem so inconvenient now that we have DVD
I still have a few vcds at home… seeing as the original vcds are cheaper than the original dvds
@mel: It appears the original Beerkada members were born and grew up in the early 80s in the twilight of the Marcos years and during EDSA I. Chompy seems to have been born and grew up in the Late 80s – Early 90s
LOL I REMEMBER THAT…. REAR AND PLEASANT DANGER..
